Important committee meeting on Monday: Everything on the agenda in Frankfurt!

On Monday, November 3rd, 2025, an important meeting of the main and regulatory committee will take place at 6:00 p.m. in the town hall of the city of Frankfurt (Oder). The meeting location is the city council meeting room “Słubice” (R 2.25) at Marktplatz 1. The meeting is called by Michael Schönherr, chairman of the main and order committee. This meeting is an excellent opportunity for citizens to learn about the issues at hand and gain insights into city politics. According to Frankfurt (Oder) the agenda is diverse.

A central point on the agenda is the determination of the agenda, followed by the decision on possible objections to the minutes of the meeting on October 6, 2025. The part where the mayor and the chairman of the main and regulatory committee will present current information on the situation in the city will also be interesting. Citizens are invited to submit their questions and raise concerns that they would like to see discussed at the meeting.

Important applications and templates

An outstanding topic will be the adaptation of the social contract of Wohnungswirtschaft Frankfurt (Oder) GmbH to the city's model statutes. This can be found under agenda item 8.1. The mayor himself will submit this application and report on it. A similar application concerns Messe und Veranstaltungs GmbH Frankfurt (Oder) and is listed under point 8.2. Both applications aim to further optimize the legal framework for these urban companies.

After all public points of the meeting comes the non-public part. Other important decisions are being prepared here that are not immediately available to the public. This includes information and inquiries from the mayor as well as applications that are important for the main and regulatory committee and the city council. This double structure of public and non-public parts shows the city's effort to create transparency while at the same time sensitive topics have to be dealt with.

The role of the city council

The city council of Wiesbaden, for example, compares itself in many ways to that of Frankfurt (Oder). It is the highest body of the city and makes important decisions that affect the administration. In the last election, numerous factions entered the city council, including the CDU, SPD and Greens. Such political structures are crucial in order to adequately represent the interests of citizens and to ensure functioning communication between town hall and the population. The entire process from the election to the holding of meetings plays an essential role in local politics, as it does here in Frankfurt (Oder).

Through exciting discussions and numerous proposals, city councilors can actively direct the fortunes of their city. Openness of meetings is therefore a key factor for citizen participation. With this in mind, the city invites everyone interested to be part of the discussions and to contribute their questions and suggestions.
