New residential project in Potsdam: 214 apartments for future-oriented people!
Something is happening in Potsdam! On October 28, 2025, the start of construction for a new residential project, the “Humboldtring Gardens”, was celebrated. Initiated by the company Quarterback Immobilien, a modern residential complex with five floors is being built on a spacious area. This will not only provide space for 214 apartments, but will also open a new chapter in the city's residential development, because the demand for living space in Potsdam is high.
The construction site has already taken shape in the last few months and the project is being implemented as KfW Efficiency House Standard 55. The goal: a sustainable and future-oriented way of life for future residents. The construction company Porr is responsible as general contractor and brings a lot of experience and know-how to this project. “A lot will happen here in the next 27 months,” emphasizes a spokesman for the Porr Group.
The living space of the future
The new apartments are diverse: They range from one-room apartments to spacious four-room apartments, with living spaces between 20 and 110 m². Each apartment has a balcony or terrace that offers wonderful views of the city and the Havel landscape. In addition, the design of the inner courtyards creates a green retreat for the residents.
This construction project is in the immediate vicinity of the Babelsberg Landscape Park and the banks of the Havel, which makes the location particularly attractive. Shops, schools and doctor's offices are within easy walking distance, which further increases the attractiveness of this residential complex. “The Humboldtring Gardens are not just a place to live, but a place to live and feel good,” said the project managers at Quarterback Immobilien. The company has already gained positive experience in urban developments in Dresden, Berlin-Lichtenberg and Norderstedt.
A sustainable future
The sustainability standard is a central concern of the project. The aim of the DGNB certification is to ensure that the new residential complex is not only modern but also environmentally friendly. The 59 parking spaces in the underground car park also provide practical solutions in urban areas.
A look at the detailed plans makes it clear: a lively place will be created here in the coming months that not only meets the needs of its residents, but can also contribute to the growth of the city of Potsdam. “The construction activity shows that the city is taking a step in the right direction to create more affordable housing,” summarizes a resident.
This is how a new neighborhood is being formed in Potsdam that is second to none. Those interested can find further information about the project on the pages of Allgemeine Bauzeitung and Porr.
