Waste calendar 2026: Now only digital and in central locations!
From next year there will be an important change in the distribution of the waste calendar in the Oberspreewald-Lausitz district. In order to conserve resources and respond to the changing needs of citizens, the 2026 waste calendar will no longer be automatically sent to all households. Instead, citizens can pick up their calendar at around 25 central display points from the last week of November 2025. This reports osl-online.de.
The background to this decision is the increasing use of digital offers from the Waste Disposal Association (AEV), such as the AEV app and various online services. In the past there were increasing problems with the delivery of the calendar, which led to dissatisfaction. A more environmentally friendly approach is also reflected in the smaller print runs of the calendar, which also remains available in the usual paper form. Alternatively, the 2026 waste calendar can also be downloaded as a PDF file from the AEV website.
