The route of the Sorbenexpress leads via Bischofswerda, Dresden Neustadt and the picturesque Senftenberg Lake. The journey focuses on the development of Strausberg from a garrison town to a modern park town and brings to life the history of the former D580/587 express train pair of the Deutsche Reichsbahn. The train type used is a former GDR government locomotive, known under the company number 118 552.
