Summer holiday highlight: Film workshop at the historic high school!

The summer holidays are starting in Brandenburg in a few days, and the “Villa” youth center in Templin has prepared a very special adventure for young film fans between the ages of 12 and 18. Again Northern Courier reports, a workshop will begin from August 25th to 29th that will offer participants exciting insights into the world of filmmaking.

As part of this creative project, which takes place in cooperation with the support association and the Joachimsthalsches Gymnasium Foundation, a few interesting points should be noted: In addition to the practical work on camera, sound and video editing, the history of the once renowned Joachimsthalsches Gymnasium is also illuminated. Former students and teachers will talk about their experiences on this historic site, which has hosted a variety of educational institutions over the years.

A look into the past

The historic site, which not only served as a high school but also as a state school, an institute for teacher training and a technical school for social education, will soon shine in new splendor. A future school for Europe is to be opened in the renovated rooms. The film project aims to give future generations of students a vivid insight into the place's past and thus connect them with history.

The workshop invites participants to actively participate. No previous knowledge is required, only curiosity and team spirit are on the requirements profile. The daily workshop times are between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., and meals are even provided.

Registration and participation

Participation in the workshop is possible free of charge; registrations will be accepted until August 15th at the latest. Those interested can either contact us by email info@villa-templin.de or register by phone on 03987 3452.

Such film education initiatives are not only popular in Templin. In general, it is clear that working with film and media is of great importance for students. Education server like bildungsserver.de offer comprehensive materials and support that range from elementary school to high school.

In addition, there are a variety of learning opportunities in Germany that aim to promote film skills. From interactive learning portals to specialized media libraries to extensive film databases, such as lms-bw.de, who support teachers, film is increasingly valued as a learning medium.

Take the opportunity to take advantage of this exciting opportunity and take part in the workshop in the “Villa” youth center!
