Digging for the future in Uckermark: Help plant 3,000 trees!

On Saturday, November 22nd, a special event will be launched in Brandenburg that appeals to both young and old. Under the title “Digging for the Future”, Mayor Hendrik Sommer (independent) and city forester Jens Rackelmann invite the population to the planting campaign. Participants have the opportunity to plant several hundred seedlings on this day in order to contribute to reforestation and environmental awareness. A total of 3,000 seedlings of various species - including silver firs, yews and chestnuts - will be planted, and anyone with a green thumb is welcome.

The event begins at 9 a.m. in the Tanneneck parking lot and is expected to end around 1 p.m. Anyone who would like to take part should bring sturdy shoes and work gloves. Spades will be provided on site so that participants can start planting straight away. City forester Jens Rackelmann will also give a short introduction to planting technology so that even inexperienced people can work well. Information about the event is available from Jens Rackelmann, who can be reached by telephone: 0172 3163335 or via email: [email protected]

Tackle together

The event is open to everyone – whether families, clubs, companies or groups. This joint campaign not only aims to promote nature, but also strengthen social cohesion. There's something in the air when neighbors and friends come together to work for a greener future. Especially in this day and age, it is important to show environmental awareness and take action, according to the organizers.

In addition, “Future Digging” is supported by the initiative of Action tree a special context. This organization works to focus on planting trees and protecting forests through various campaigns. An idea that is becoming increasingly important in Brandenburg.

A call to all nature lovers

If you have a knack for planting yourself or simply love nature, this day is an ideal opportunity to do something good. Even if you don't have a green thumb, you'll be able to learn lots of tips and tricks in the community. Such an event not only promotes the environment, but also social exchange. Questions about this are always welcome, and anyone who would like to help should mark this date in red on their calendar!
