Perleberger Late Shift: Celebrate with fashion, dance and cuisine!
The anticipation in Perleberg is increasing: On June 20, 2025, after a three-year break, the popular Perleberg late shift will finally take place again. The event, which is organized by the City Initiative Perleberg in collaboration with local retailers, restaurateurs and various stakeholders, promises a colorful and varied program. Entry is free. It starts at 4 p.m. on Bäckerstrasse.
The focus is on a fashion show by the DKR social boutique, which is presented on an impressive 50 meter long red carpet. Here, Perleberger between the ages of 5 and 65 show the latest collections from the fashion house Frija Omina, the DRK social boutique, Malibu Fashion as well as from Schuhhaus Schmidt and SEHwerk Willam Optik. The event will be complemented by a dance performance by the Perleberg dance school “Quer durch die Gasse” with around 100 dancers at 5:30 p.m.
A new concert venue awaits visitors
A special innovation of this late shift is the transformation of the Hagen into a concert venue, an initiative by Ingrid Wegner that is supported by the 2025 participatory budget. The ceremonial opening will take place at 6:30 p.m. by the “Sound of Pearls” flute orchestra. Further musical entertainment will be provided by the musicians of the “Big Band Live Sound Orchestra” and the “Teenage Dream” dance group from the Prignitz District Music School. Guests are treated to summer dishes, refreshing drinks and sweet specialties.
Janine Roder, one of the organizers, is optimistic: “The high demand for events in Hagen shows the great interest of the Perleberg population.” The return of the late shift is seen as an important step to revitalize the city center and involve more local actors.
Support for a lively city center
The late shift is not only a celebration for the local community, but also part of a larger plan to revitalize Perleberg's city center. The Perleberg City Laboratory, which was launched as part of the “Sustainable City Centers and Centers” funding program, supports clubs and implements citizen suggestions to make the city center more attractive.
Events like these are part of a nationwide initiative that deals with the challenges and opportunities of inner cities. The inner city congress recently took place in Essen, organized by the Federal Ministry of Housing, Urban Development and Construction. Here it was discussed how more than 200 municipalities in Germany can be supported by the “Sustainable City Centers and Centers” program in order to actively shape change in the cities, as the site says BBSR informed.
The late shift is therefore not only a cultural event, but also a step in the right direction for a lively city center. All Perlebergers and visitors are cordially invited to take part in this colorful festival and experience the diversity of the city.
