Beelitz and Luckenwalde: Christmas markets in crisis mode!
Christmas markets are a highlight of the cold season for many in the region, but the current circumstances bring challenges. In Beelitz, those responsible have decided not to have large Christmas trees this year. Instead, smaller trees will be set up in the old town and in Fichtenwalde, which will be installed by the construction yard employees. The lighting will remain as usual and will shine in festive LED light from November 24th, the city administration promised. Loud maz-online.de This is a cost reduction measure that is not easy for many municipalities.
But even in the surrounding towns there is no saving when it comes to the Christmas markets. The market in Seddin will take place on December 20th at 3:30 p.m. on the church square. The tree for Seddin comes from Neuseddin and is a maximum of five meters high. As always, there is a lot of delicious food here, from crepes to homemade cabbage soup to mulled wine, which costs between 3.50 and 4 euros. The LED lighting in Seddin is also only switched on for a few hours to keep costs down.
A wide range of offerings in the region
The situation is similar in Fichtenwalde, where a fundraising campaign for the Christmas tree is being initiated. Maybe there will even be more stalls than last year. The cone market takes place there on December 6th between 1:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. and you can treat yourself to mulled wine for 2.50 euros. Treuenbrietzen is also planning a Christmas market for November 29th, which will take place between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. in front of and in St. Mary's Church, where you can buy mulled wine for just 3 euros.
In Wilhelmshorst, the size of the Christmas tree depends on how much money is raised through donations. Werder (Havel), on the other hand, is holding its Christmas market from November 28th to 30th without restrictions. Potsdam has now found a new operator for its Christmas market, which now operates under the name “Potsdam Christmas Magic”. With more extensive lighting, the market will be open from November 24th to December 28th between 11am and 9/10pm.
Stability in Stahnsdorf and the surrounding area
Stahnsdorf also holds a Christmas market on December 7th, although costs remain stable as the electricity supply comes from a partner. There is also no reason to complain in Teltow and Kleinmachnow - the markets remain as usual, even if security costs in Kleinmachnow have increased. The Teltow Christmas market takes place on December 14th from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., and in Kleinmachnow it opens on November 30th from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
