Women's Sports Day in Hosena: A day full of movement and passion!

On Saturday, September 13th, a very special event will take place on the grounds of the Linden Elementary School Hosena: theWomen's sports day. The Kreissportbund OSL e.V. together with SV Blau-Gelb 1899 Hosena e.V. invites all sports enthusiasts to take part from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and immerse themselves in a variety of sports activities. The last edition of the Women's Sports Day in 2024 already attracted 220 women and men who were interested in more than 40 different participation offers. This year the event promises to be a great success once again, with a particular focus on women and girls. Men with children are also welcome, which underlines the inclusivity of the event.

When we look back at the last Women's Sports Day, which took place on September 14, 2024, it is clear that the event is constantly growing. Organized by the same partners, participants enjoyed 44 different offerings, from Qi Gong to Latin dance. The oldest participant, the 91-year-old senior, also impressively demonstrated how sport brings people together by taking part in several courses. At the opening in the gymnasium, guests of honor such as Martina Tornow from the Brandenburg State Sports Association welcomed those present. The Fanfarenzug Großräschen e.V. provided the festive setting with musical performances, and the “SEVENUP” dance group from SV Meuro impressed with a sporting performance.

An extensive program awaits!

The comprehensive program of the Women's Sports Day will probably offer something for everyone. The courses offered are divided into 30-minute units so that everyone interested has the opportunity to try out different sports. During a lunch break, participants can fortify themselves with healthy smoothies provided by the school support association and enjoy the vaulting demonstrations and other dance performances. There will also be information stands. Last year, for example, the Lauchhammer women's shelter was represented with a stand, and the Storchen-Apotheke from Lauta offered health checks.

Holger Mudrick, managing director of the district sports association, emphasizes the valuable exchange between the organizers and local institutions, such as the Linden elementary school and the Hosena youth club. “It’s important to us to pull together and offer women a platform,” Mudrick said recently. The event is also supported by financial support from the State Sports Association of Brandenburg e.V., which makes it easier to implement the extensive offerings.

Fitness for women in everyday life

But there are also attractive sports opportunities in the region outside of this special day. For example, fitness training for women takes place every Monday evening under the direction of trainer Nadine Kirstein. With a mix of flexibility training, free weights and other equipment, it brings together 25 women between the ages of 35 and 80. The varied program not only offers fitness, but also a great opportunity for communal activity and exchange of experiences.
