Strasser prevailed in a runoff election with 69.8% of the vote against AfD candidate Wilko Möller, who received 30.2%. The last few months have been eventful for Wilke, as he was appointed state interior minister in May, thus vacating the office of mayor.

What does the new city leader plan for the future? Strasser highlights the importance of strong economic development, which he sees as one of his priorities. With the motto “Together for Frankfurt (Oder)” he advocates smart economic decisions that have the well-being of all citizens in mind.
