Wildau takes off: New start-up center revolutionizes Brandenburg!
The first start-up center, Reaktor.Wildau, was officially opened in Wildau on June 23, 2025. This center is one of a total of six new start-up facilities being created in Brandenburg. At a time when innovative ideas are more in demand than ever, this project is intended not only to strengthen the start-up scene, but also to make a significant contribution to the region's economic renewal. One of the main financiers is the state of Brandenburg, which is providing over 17 million euros from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and state funds until 2028 to increase the visibility and influence of start-ups.
At the opening event, the start-ups of the first cohort had the opportunity to present their business models. The first development program begins on July 1, 2025, and participants will receive intensive support over nine months. Experienced coaches are on hand to provide expertise in areas such as financing, patent issues and international networking. High-quality technical infrastructure, modern office space as well as laboratory and workshop space are also provided to offer the founders optimal conditions for their developments.
A network of start-up centers
The opening in Wildau is just the beginning. In addition to Reaktor.Wildau, another five start-up centers are to be opened in Brandenburg by the end of the year in cities such as Potsdam, Bad Belzig, Cottbus, Beeskow and Strausberg. Each of these centers has specific focuses and is operated by different providers. The start-up center Gutshof Glien in Bad Belzig focuses on transport and logistics solutions, while the Incubator Village in Beeskow operates open to all sectors. Other programs include healthcare in Cottbus and digital media and artificial intelligence in Potsdam.
These initiatives are part of the “Brandenburg start-up offensive”, which aims to promote young companies and impart entrepreneurial know-how. Intensive support and networking opportunities are intended to minimize risks for founding teams in the growth phase. The Ministry of Economics, Labor and Energy supports these efforts in order to enable promising start-ups in the areas of digitalization, energy and the circular economy to develop new business models, according to information from efre.brandenburg.de.
Brandenburg's innovation-friendly future
While Brandenburg is facing challenges such as digitalization and demographic change, these new start-up centers offer an excellent opportunity to increase the state's innovative strength. They not only help to increase the number of newly founded companies, but also to improve their quality and their chances of success. Particular attention is paid to supporting company successions and technology transfer from existing research institutions.
With such an infrastructure and the resources provided, Brandenburg could soon look forward to a thriving start-up landscape that creates attractive jobs and further promotes economic dynamism in the region. The shaping of the regional economy gives hope for promising business models and a strong start-up ecosystem in the future, as spreebote.de reports.
