On Wednesday, October 30, 2025, a serious traffic accident occurred on Waßmannsdorfer Chaussee in Schönefeld, in which a 33-year-old motorcyclist was injured. The incident happened just before 3:30 p.m. when a MINI COOPER hit a braking YAMAHA motorcycle. The violent impact caused the motorcycle to be pushed against a MERCEDES car. The motorcyclist was thrown through the air and had to be treated as an outpatient in hospital, reports Niederlausitz-aktuell.de.
The accident caused significant material damage amounting to tens of thousands of euros. Both the motorcycle and the MINI were no longer roadworthy after the accident. For the duration of the clean-up work, federal highway 96a was partially closed until after 6 p.m., which led to a longer standstill in the direction of Potsdam.
Other traffic accidents and events
But there weren't just problems in Schönefeld that day: in Byhleguhre there was a serious traffic accident when a car crashed into a tree.
