Tiger Bike Tour 2025: Cycling legends collect for Eberswalde Zoo!

On June 28, 2025 it will be that time again: the 19th Tiger Cycle Tour in Eberswalde will be the annual highlight for cycling enthusiasts and animal lovers. Organizer Bernd Hensch has announced that this will be his last tour as head of the event. But don't worry: he will remain loyal to cycling as an active rider, while the organization of the next tour will be handed over to Paulina Ostrowska. These changes not only bring a breath of fresh air, but also a concentrated load of experiences and emotions.

The charity trip has raised around 750,000 euros for Eberswalde Zoo in recent years. This will secure the future of the zoo and support magical projects such as the design of the tiger enclosure. A total of around 300 cycling fans will take part in the event this year, including former world champions Rainer Podlesch (80), Reinhard Scheer (81) and Klaus-Jürgen Grünke (74), who will ride for victory in the distinctive yellow jerseys.

Emotions in yellow jerseys

Klaus-Jürgen Grünke himself describes the tiger bike tour as “completely unique” and emphasizes the excellent organization, which is made possible by a committed team of sponsors, helpers and riders. The idea of pedaling together for a good cause unites the participants and creates a good atmosphere. The start times are set: The 200 kilometer distance starts at 7 a.m., while the 100 kilometer lap starts at 9:30 a.m. The return of the entire field at the zoo is scheduled for approximately 4:30 p.m.

Bernd Hensch, who also acts as chairman of the Association of Friends and Supporters of the Eberswalde Zoological Garden, is hoping for ideal weather on the tour. “Dry with temperatures around 20 degrees would be perfect,” says Hensch. The tour is fully secured: police, service cars and medical support are available to ensure the safety of all participants.

A strong team supports the zoo

There are currently 26 sponsors for the event, who make a significant contribution to financing the tiger bike tour. Particularly noteworthy is the support from local sponsors who not only provide financial resources but also actively support cycling in the region. Sponsorship in cycling has proven to be a lucrative business in recent years. Renowned brands like Red Bull have taken not only teams but also entire events to the next level through their investments in sports, showing how valuable these partnerships are for the community.

Interested cyclists should not be afraid to make sponsorship requests in this context. As BikeBeat's Philipp Schön notes, there are a variety of ways to develop creative concepts, be it for professional teams or individuals. The involvement of sponsors not only in professional cycling, but also in local events such as the Tiger Cycle Tour strengthens regional identity and promotes the tourism sector.

The tiger bike tour will definitely be a real hit - both for your own well-being and for the Eberswalde Zoo. The anticipation for this event is already palpable and spectators can look forward to an exciting event where the heart of cycling and the love of nature go hand in hand.
