Santagada triumphs at the Autumn Mare Prize: A racing day full of excitement!
On Sunday, October 26, 2025, the racecourse in Hanover shone with the glow of an exciting racing day. The main event, the Autumn Mare Prize, attracted numerous horse and racing lovers. With a hefty prize money of 55,000 euros, it was no wonder that there was excitement in the air as the participants took on the 2,200 meter route.
The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the horse Santagada, who is trained under the wing of Peter Schiergen from Cologne and runs for the Park Wiedingen Stud. After her victorious performance in the German Unity Prize in Berlin-Hoppegarten, the favorite was well positioned to win this race too. With jockey Leon Wolff in the saddle, Santagada won the race with a slight lead, much to the delight of the enthusiastic spectators.

Santagada's impressive career
The journey from Santagada is quite fitting. Born in the 2022 vintage and saddled with Soldier Hollow pedigree, she has already proven her talent in several important races. She has won five Group III races in her career, including the Black Gold Race and the Hamburg Mare Mile. Despite isolated accidents in other races, she is proving to be a really strong horse in the racing business. Her dam, Salve Venezia, was a four-thousand-time winner herself and brings with her a promising bloodline from which several successful racers have emerged.
Since the jockeys Leon Wolff and Martin Seidl each had two winners, the race day was a real success not only for the spectators, but also for the riders. Athletic skill coupled with a bit of luck is what makes this sport so attractive, and on Sunday it was a special feeling that all the spectators present will not soon forget.
