Citizens resist: Petition against aircraft noise and short starts on BER!

In the past few weeks, a remarkable initiative has formed in the region around Berlin Brandenburg (BER) Airport. The mayors of Eichwalde, Schulzendorf and Zeuthen have launched a petition that is directed against aircraft noise in connection with the so -called "short starts" on BER. Like the Openpetition , residents suffer from the negative effects of aircraft noise, especially during the summer months, especially when people spend more time outdoors.

The petition is aimed at the Brandenburg state parliament. The claim is clear: the state parliament is intended to ask the state government as a partner of BER to minimize the short start. Mayor Jörg Jenoch expressed his frustration about the silence of those responsible and hopes for lively support from the population. You can sign online or in the town halls by the beginning of September. The first supporters have already gathered and posters in the neighboring communities point out with slogans such as "Louder voices for quiet nights".

The demands are not only relevant locally. Scientific studies show that aircraft noise can increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases and depression. The petition against aircraft noise is not only a local concern, but can also be seen as part of a greater struggle for the protection of the environmental standards throughout German air traffic. Political decision -makers are now asked to take responsibility and to open the ear to the concerns of the citizens. If you want to get involved, you have the opportunity to actively participate in the collection of signatures and thus set a sign of quiet nights.
