Entrepreneurs' meeting in Werneuchen: Discover opportunities for the regional economy!

On September 18, 2025, the annual business meeting took place in the Werneuchen event hangar, which represents an important forum for exchange within the regional economy. The event, which was under the patronage of Mayor Astrid Hildebrand, brought together representatives of large, medium-sized and small companies from the region to talk about current challenges and opportunities in the economy. How Barnim Current reported, the focus of the discussion was on the potential for commercial space and infrastructure development, with particular attention to the Werneuchen airfield.

Particular highlights of the event were the lectures by Ms. Grabsch and Mr. Günther, who dealt intensively with the topics of commercial space and infrastructure. Mr. von Popowski from complan Kommunalberatung GmbH also presented the current status of the location study for commercial space development. An additional contribution came from Mr. Kade from Mobilitywerk GmbH, who discussed municipal heat planning. The networking evenings, which offered an excellent opportunity for informal exchange and making new contacts, were opened by Mr. Dietrich, who spoke on behalf of Mr. Hase.

Strengthening the regional economic structure

The event is not only a meeting of entrepreneurs, but also contributes to strengthening the Werneuchen location within the regional economic structure. The aim is to promote exchange and work together to develop solutions to the challenges in the region. Planning for the 2026 entrepreneur meeting is already in full swing, which underlines the dynamism and commitment of the participating companies.

In a further look at the challenges that await entrepreneurs in structurally weak regions, the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (BMWK) formulates the central concerns of regional structural policy. How BMWE explains, the federal-state joint task (GRW) aims to compensate for locational disadvantages, create jobs and accelerate the transition to a climate-neutral economy. In addition, a public consultation was initiated on the development of industrial and commercial areas in structurally weak regions.

The lack of suitable commercial space represents a significant hurdle for companies that want to relocate or expand. This makes the exchange and networking that took place at the business meeting in Werneuchen all the more important. The consultation information and materials are accessible to all interested parties, highlighting the importance of participatory development.
