In October 2023, a total of 12,069 unemployed women and men were reported in the Barnim and Uckermark districts, which means a decrease of 198 people compared to the previous month. Nevertheless, the number has increased by 202 compared to October of the previous year. The unemployment rate shows a clear picture: in the Barnim district it is 5.5 percent, while the Uckermark is significantly higher at 11.1 percent Barnim currently reports.

The Eberswalde employment agency recorded an unemployment rate of 7.5 percent in October, which represents a slight decrease of 0.1 percentage points compared to the previous month.
