In Altranft, a charming district of Bad Freienwalde, preparations are in full swing for a very special event: this 20th Brandenburg Village and Harvest Festival, which will take place on September 20th and 21st, 2025. At the same time, Altranft's 650th anniversary is being celebrated, making the celebrations even more significant. The anticipation is great and the organizing team has already started preparations to offer visitors an unforgettable experience.
The festival is celebrated on the picturesque village green between the castle and church and at other locations in the village. The highlights include two festive parades that reflect the region's past and living traditions. A varied program with stage performances, sports competitions and special children's activities is also being planned. The organizers, led by event manager Martin Koschnitzki, work closely with local associations to organize the events.
A celebration for the whole family
The organizers are particularly proud of an exciting event Children's program, which features, among other things, a play, artistry and a participatory circus. The Fridolin scarecrow will be a special attraction for little visitors. Active competitions such as dumper races, football and tennis tournaments as well as a dog sports show are also on the program.
Another highlight will be the traditional harvest crown competition, in which the most creative and beautiful harvest crowns will be awarded. Registration for this is possible until August 29, 2025. And while the children are busy, the adults can enjoy the regional specialties at market stalls on the village green. The plan includes, among other things, culinary delicacies and drinks from the region that reflect the unique character of Altranft.
Opening and guests of honor
The festival begins on Saturday, September 20, 2025, with a festive service at 9:40 a.m Regional Bishop Christian Stäblein is opened. Guests of honor such as Prime Minister Dietmar Woidke and Agriculture Minister Hanka Mittelstädt will also be received at 11:45 a.m., which further adds to the festive atmosphere.
Saturday evening promises to be a musical highlight with a concert by the well-known band “Die Zunft”. A visitor parking lot will be set up for visitors near the Oderbruch car dealership, and even helicopter sightseeing flights are possible for the adventurous.
Altranft was first mentioned in documents in 1375 and is known for its lively village community. The event will not only celebrate the region's agricultural achievements but also showcase cultural diversity and village hospitality.
