Family festival in the open-air museum: Regentrude” inspires in Lehde!

Look forward to an eventful spectacle in the Lehde Open Air Museum! On July 26th and August 2nd, 2025, the picturesque backdrop will be transformed into a stage for the family play “Regentrude” by Theodor Storm. Directed by Daniela Schwalbe, a talented actress from the Dresden traveling theater Schwalbe, the fairy tale comes to life and delights both young and old audiences.

The performances take place at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., and the best thing about it: Admission for adults is just 6 euros, while children up to 16 years of age can attend completely free. Registration is not required, so families can drop by spontaneously. The events are part of the cultural summer in the Oberspreewald-Lausitz district, which offers many other attractions such as open-air cinema and theater and adventure tours until September. If you would like to find out more, you can take a look at the museum website.

A fairy tale comes to life

The piece “Regentrude” tells of drought, drying grain and thirsty animals. The fireman took the scepter in his hand while Regentrude fell into a deep sleep. But old Mother Stine knows the saying that can bring the water back. With her performance, Daniela Schwalbe will take the audience into the captivating world of fairy tales and convey the central message about the power of nature in a moving way.

The performances take place in the idyllic Lehde Open Air Museum, which can be found at An der Giglitza 1a in Lübbenau OT Lehde. If you have any questions, the museum team is available on +49 (0)3573 – 870 2440 or by email.

Open-air theater

The tradition of open-air theater has a long history in Germany. This heritage is also upheld in the open-air museum. In a similar way to the Freilandtheater Bad Windsheim, which attracts up to 12,000 spectators annually with its unique productions, the Freilandmuseum Lehde strives to delight its visitors with varied and exciting stories. The pieces are staged as holistic experiences in which the surrounding nature and the historical backdrop harmonize perfectly.

Take the opportunity to experience the magic of the theater in the open air and spend an unforgettable day with the family at the Lehde Open Air Museum. Your little actors will be thrilled!
