Homeland festival Schöneiche: Attention commuter! Large closures threaten!

In Schöneiche near Berlin, a very special festival will be celebrated in a few days. On the occasion of the ceremonial 650th anniversary of the municipality, the local festival takes place from June 20 to 22, 2025. This is an event that the residents and visitors should never miss out.

Before the celebrations begin, there is an extensive closure in the community from June 19th to 22nd. On this occasion, the streets between Dorfaue 6 and 45 are completely blocked. The residents and commuters are therefore well advised to use alternative routes. A bypass via Hohes Feld, Petershagener Straße and Tasdorfer Straße is recommended, especially since the bus lines 161 and 420 are not stopped during the festival from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. by the closures at the Dorfaue, Rental Kestraße and Walter-Dehmel Street stops, as the MOZ reports.

The program of the local festival

The festival site is built in the village and promises numerous attractions. The program includes exciting carousels, diverse stands and the traditional calibration cat - a sporting challenge for which you should register in advance. Historical bread baking is also offered in the bakery at the home house, which will inspire young and old. A highlight will take place on Saturday, June 21st: the big parade.

The move starts at 10:30 a.m. on Brandenburgische Strasse and leads to the village church, past various departments and clubs that provide information about themselves there. From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., a spacious blocking circuit for the move is set up to ensure the safety of all participants. The road will be closed from 10 a.m. and will be closed at midnight by June 22nd. The parking spaces in the town center, as with Edeka and Jysk, are then no longer available.

cultural highlights and accessibility

Another cultural event takes place on June 22: a big choir meeting where many different choirs will be on stage. The mixed choir Strausberg starts at 11:10 a.m., followed by other choirs from the area that enrich the day with live singing. The crowning glory is a grand finale on the main stage in the afternoon.

If you are traveling by bike, you make a good choice. A large number of parking spaces are available in the courtyard of the stork school. The Schöneicher Rüdersdorfer-Straßenbahn is also active and also offers special trips on June 21 to secure visitors to their destination.

For everyone interested, there is the possibility to visit a flea market on Sunday, June 22nd. Some stands are still free, and interested parties can contact 650 years@schoeneiche.de to secure a place. The home festival becomes a colorful mix of culture, history and community.

summarized: If you want to be in Schöneiche on the festive days, you should find out more about traffic impairments and secure a place in the traffic jam of the celebrations in good time. There is a lot to discover, i.e. See you at the Heimatfest!
