Christmas magic: All the top events in Eisenhüttenstadt and Neuzelle!

The weekend is just around the corner and there is a lot to discover in the region around Eisenhüttenstadt! From festive Christmas markets to musical performances to an exciting sports night - there is something for everyone here.

On Friday, December 5th, the Festival of Lights will take place in Eisenhüttenstadt. From 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., guests can expect a colorful hustle and bustle with sales huts, carousels, craft stalls and music. A highlight will be the parade of the EKO traditional marching band, which will parade through the city at 6 p.m. Anyone who has a penchant for exciting stories can come to a lecture by Manfred Dietrich about Easter Island and the dwarf planet Makemake at the Schützenhaus Müllrose - admission is free.

Various events in the region

On the same evening there will also be an Advent concert by the “Gospelfriends” choir in the Friedrich Wolf Theater. Remaining tickets are available for 16 euros. Music lovers can look forward to a Christmas concert with Maxim Shagaev, Ute Beckert and Alexander Babenko in the Municipal Museum from 8 p.m., where admission is 25 euros.

Activities for families are also offered in Müllrose - here visitors can decorate Christmas balls in the Sorbian tradition on Friday and Saturday. The workshops start daily at 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m.

A special highlight for fairytale lovers big and small is the Neuzell Fairytale Christmas Market, which takes place on Saturday and Sunday in Neuzelle Monastery. With a variety of attractions such as the fairytale forest, live fairytale characters, pony carriage rides and carousels, this market promises an unforgettable experience for the whole family. Visitors can also immerse themselves in a magical atmosphere from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, while the Neuzeller brass band provides musical entertainment. If you feel like it, you can bake stick cakes around the campfire and enjoy sweet treats - entry is free according to Neuzeller Tourism.

Cultural highlights and Advent fun

Saturday unfolds with many more highlights. This is how the 45th anniversary of the Eisenhüttenstadt Municipal Museum is celebrated - entry is free here too. If you're looking for a little relaxation, you can ice skate or enjoy the warm water in the island pool. In the evening the show continues with an Advent coffee klatch by the Müllroser women's choir “Cantabile” and a concert in the Neuzelle Protestant Church, where Ronny Gander will perform.

And that's not all! On Sunday, the premiere of the family musical “Snowy and the Dream of the Stars” will be celebrated in the Friedrich Wolf Theater, while a Christmas concert by the men's choir “Germania” 1885 will be played in the Nikolai Church. There is also a lot on offer in Frankfurt (Oder) on Saturday and Sunday: The Christmas market “Advent in St. Marien” opens its doors and offers a similar festive atmosphere for just 3 euros entry.
