Prenzlau city council: Important decisions in November!

Exciting topics are on the agenda at the Prenzlau city council meeting: On November 11th, the draft rent index for 2026 will be discussed in the Committee for Economy, City and District Development. The demolition of the former daycare center in Seelübbe is also being discussed, as nordkurier.de reports. The head of the building authority, Christine Walther, also provides insights into the progress of current construction measures and the ongoing bidding discussions with potential companies. The plan is to start work quickly after the contract has been awarded.

Citizens are informed that any road closures during the construction phase should be kept to a minimum. This comes with the assurance that traffic regulations will be communicated in a timely and transparent manner to minimize inconvenience.

Culture and education in focus

On November 12th, the Committee for Education, Culture and Social Affairs will focus on local culture. The Kulturwerk Prenzlau e.V. association is introduced here, and the situation in the “Glashaus” is up for discussion. Changes to the fee schedule for sports halls, sports fields and the Dominican Monastery Cultural Center are also planned. With regard to the Prenzlauer Seebad, a look back at the past season is taken and the current situation of Kita Friendship is discussed, according to nordkurier.de.

An important day for everyone interested in finance is on the agenda of the Finance Committee on November 13th. The topics from the previous day are taken up again there. District forester Jens Rackelmann will report on the economic results of the municipal forestry facilities and present the new version of the auditing regulations.

Invitation to citizens

All meetings begin at 5 p.m. in meeting room 203 of the town hall at Steintor 4. The city council warmly invites locals to address their questions to the city administration and to actively participate in political events.

The current developments in Prenzlau are in the context of the national urban development policy, which is funded via bmwsb.bund.de. This initiative aims to make cities and communities worth living in and therefore offers exchange platforms for everyone interested in urban development.
