Visitors can look forward to chamber music pieces from different countries and eras. From fiddle tunes from Ireland to Bavarian melodies to humorous works by Mozart – there is something here for every taste. Particular highlights are the participatory activities with body percussion and dance, which actively involve the children in the events. Well-known children's songs such as “Bella Bimba” and “Hopping Hanna” are also on the program. No piece of music lasts longer than three minutes - perfect for keeping the little ones interested and promoting their concentration and motor skills, according to the Chamber Academy on its website.
Creative activities for the whole family
The concert is not only a feast for the ears, but also an opportunity for creative activity. Before the official start of the concert, there will be a creative activity in the foyer from 3 p.m. in which families can get active together with Jacqueline Koschnitzki-Pflanz. This type of engagement was seen as valuable in linking music and creativity. There is also the option to purchase individual tickets for €15 - discounted tickets are available for €6 and family tickets are also available.
In addition, the Chamber Academy's program includes exciting artistic projects, including concerts that focus on the music of composers such as the extraordinary Louise, who was the first woman to be allowed to teach piano at a conservatory in the 19th century. Their works, long forgotten, are now being rediscovered and performed. Another highlight will take place on March 22nd and will feature Johannes Brahms' double concerto for violin and cello, which deals with the themes of friendship and interaction in music.
Music education for young and old
The Chamber Academy not only focuses on concerts for the youngest, but also tries to appeal to young people and involve them in the creative process. As part of projects like UMPANZERT, the artistic approach to personal topics, such as dealing with confinement and boundaries, is addressed. Literary fragments by Franz Kafka are linked with contemporary music and puppet theater in order to enable a sensory experience of the texts. Such innovative approaches show how important music education is today and demonstrate the commitment to a lively and inclusive cultural scene, as shown on the platforms of Experimental music education and other institutions can be found.
