Remembering the night of the pogrom
November 9th has a special meaning for many as Germany commemorates the Nazi pogrom night that took place in 1938. In Neuruppin and many other places, this day is honored with various commemorative events. In Rheinsberg, a commemoration of the pogrom night will take place at 2 p.m. in the music distillery. Wusterhausen will hold a vigil at 6 p.m. at town hall to remember the victims.
These commemorative events are expected to be made even more sensitive by the current geopolitical context, especially given the increased security situation due to the war between Israel and Hamas. The protection of Jewish life is particularly important in these times.
So head to the Ostprignitz-Ruppin region to take part in these profound and entertaining events. Whether at the weekly market, the Martini market or the commemorative events - there is something for everyone!
