Pure inclusion: Oberlympics attract 800 athletes to Potsdam!

On Wednesday, June 18, 2025, the vocational training center in the Oberlinhaus in Potsdam is transformed into a colorful center of inclusion and sporting activities. For the 12th time the Oberlympics take place, an event that comes to the fore more than just competition spirit - it is about lived inclusion, variety and team spirit. Around 800 athletes: inside, including trainees, students: inside of several schools and the workshop employees in the Oberlinhaus, will immerse yourself in a variety of disciplines and face the challenges.

The patronage for this important event has Dr. Tina Denninger, representative for people with disabilities from the state capital Potsdam. A highlight of the opening ceremony will be the inflammation of the "Upper Lympic Fire" by canoe Olympic champion Sebastian Brendel. State Secretary Hendrik Fischer will also give a greeting to the participants and thus further heat the anticipation for the event.

The Oberlympics are all about inclusion and fair sport. Values ​​such as team spirit, joy in movement and the reduction of barriers as well as fear of contact are core concerns of this event. A variety of sports, including football, frisbee, wheelchair basketball, ensures tension, and many more. So that even the non -physical young people get their money's worth, there are special handicaps, such as the use of wheelchairs at certain sports stations.

If you actively participate in at least ten sports stations, you have the chance of attractive raffle prices such as helicopter flights or hotel accommodation. Team prices are also part of the party and include experiences such as vouchers for workshops or tickets for home games of sporty top teams.
