Horrible traffic accident in Biesenthal: girl seriously injured!
On June 28, 2025, several sources reported serious traffic accidents that unfortunately resulted in a high number of injured people. In the Barnim region, especially in Biesenthal, a tragic incident occurred that shocked the community.
On June 26, 2025, at around 2:40 p.m., a serious traffic accident occurred on Bahnhofsstrasse when a Mercedes Sprinter hit a 13-year-old girl. The child ran across the street after getting off a bus and suffered serious injuries. The Criminal Investigation Department has been called in and is investigating the exact circumstances of the collision, which has not only caused great concern for the girl's parents, but has also caused concern throughout the community. Barnim Aktuell reports on the ongoing investigation.
Further incidents in Barnim
But that wasn't the only incident in Barnim that day. That same morning, the police in Wandlitz were informed of an attempted theft in the Schönwalde district. A man sneaked around parked vehicles and tried to open the doors of an Audi before finally fleeing. Here too, the officers secured traces to clarify the identity of the suspected perpetrator. Such incidents raise questions about safety on our streets that need to be focused on more than ever.
Another case is the inspection of a Nissan Micra in Werneuchen on June 26th at 11:40 p.m. The driver, a 27-year-old, did not have a valid driver's license and the vehicle did not have a license plate. In addition, it turned out that the trailer he was carrying had been wanted since 2023 after it was stolen. A blood sample was taken to check suspected drug use while the pendant was seized to be returned to its rightful owner. Barnim Aktuell takes a closer look at these incidents.
Accidents in other regions
While the situation in Barnim is worrying, another serious accident also occurred in Chemnitz. On Wednesday morning around 10:30 a.m. there was a collision between a Skoda car and a BMW on Zwickauer Straße. The Skoda driver, a 65-year-old, wanted to turn left into the parking lot of a Lidl store when the 46-year-old BMW driver overtook him and drove into the Skoda. The impact was so violent that the Skoda was thrown across a grassy area and ultimately rammed a Mercedes in the parking lot. Both drivers suffered serious injuries and had to be taken to hospital. The police are now looking for witnesses who can help clarify the accident [Blick](https://www.blick.de/chemnitz/update-verkehrsunfall-beim-chemnitzer-zentrum-schwere- reisen-nach-auffahrunfall-artikel13045781).
Unfortunately, such traffic accidents are not uncommon. As Destatis reports, comprehensive statistics on traffic accidents are kept in order to increase the safety of our roads and to better understand potential causes. Recording these accidents is important for establishing transport policy and measures to improve road infrastructure and safety.
It remains to be hoped that those affected will quickly regain their health and that everyone involved will be held responsible. Road safety affects us all and should always be a top priority issue.
