On Monday, June 23, 2025, there was a devastating fire in Wandlitz that caused significant damage. The fire broke out at a weekend property on the lakefront, although the cause is still unknown. The fire brigade received the alarm early in the morning and quickly went to the scene, where the flames completely destroyed the shed and spread to an area of around 400 square meters of forest and meadow. The estimated material damage amounts to around 20,000 euros. The criminal police have started investigating to clarify the cause of the fire, as Moz.de reports.
As the fire raged on the weekend property, surrounding areas were also put on alert. The fence to the neighboring property also suffered damage, which further aggravated the situation. Firefighters were under high pressure to prevent the flames from spreading further.

The mayor of Wandlitz, Oliver Borchert, was informed about the situation during the operation. The fire department was able to quickly bring the fire under control and prevent it from spreading to other areas. The operation ended shortly after 7 p.m. Here too, the criminal police are investigating the cause of the fire.
