The summer holidays are just around the corner and Bernau is presenting itself at its best. Six weeks without school await the children and young people, and there is a lot to discover. Things get particularly exciting in... Bernau Museum, where willow weaving workshops will be offered from August 27th to 29th, 2025. The participation fee of just 5 euros per person includes the required materials, and registration is required at museum@bernau-bei-berlin.de.

The Bernau City Library also came up with something. Two open children's events are on the program: On August 12th and September 2nd, little visitors can look forward to the Kamishibai at 4:30 p.m. If the weather doesn't cooperate, the children's library is transformed into a picture book cinema. There are also numerous leisure activities in the library's gaming zone during the summer holidays, where you can play games with the Nintendo Switch and Playstation 5.
The library has also thought about those who don't like reading and offers a large selection of holiday reading material, DVDs, CDs and board games. New additions include Galakto, Edurino and CodeKiste for the age group of 3 to 10 years. For older children aged 12 and over, exciting game books and pen & paper starter boxes, including Dungeons and Dragons and Call of Cthulhu, are available.
Activities in the youth clubs
The city's youth clubs open their doors during the holidays and offer various programs. The “We save food” project will take place in the Yellow leisure center from July 28th to August 1st, suitable for children aged 10 and over.
