Art meets work: DKB Foundation opens exhibition in Eberswalde!
An exciting event took place last week at the Thinkfarm in Eberswalde: The gallery opened its doors to all art enthusiasts and showed impressive works from the inventory of the DKB Foundation for Social Engagement. Twelve works of art can now be admired in the bright rooms of the Thinkfarm for the next two years, before new pieces take their place.
The opening of the exhibition was celebrated by Larissa Reise and Ingo Frost. Itta Olaj, the managing director of the Brandenburg Lake District Tourism Association, highlighted the great collaboration between the Thinkfarm and the DKB Foundation in her speeches. Numerous guests were welcomed in a cozy setting, including Nicole Sachse-Handke, head of the Eberswalde Cultural Office, and Henrik Hundertmark, managing director of WHG Eberswalde. Ivonne Affeldt, the head of the family garden, and Manja Schulz, the Eberswalde tourism department manager, were also there.
Networking and modern work
The exhibition is part of a project that deals with the modern way of working - a topic that is becoming increasingly important in light of the current “workation” movement. This is a successful combination of vacation and work, which benefits not only the vacation guests but also those involved on site. The aim is to promote the visibility of these modern forms of work and to network the actors with one another. You can report to the Thinkfarm reception to view the works of art without having to purchase a coworking ticket.
Christian Bartsch from the DKB Foundation took the time to present the works on display. The works of art had previously been reframed and have a very special effect in the bright rooms of the Thinkfarm. This is particularly important because Eberswalde has so far only offered limited opportunities for this type of art exhibition.
The role of the DKB Foundation
The DKB Foundation is not only committed to art and culture, but is also involved in many social and ecological areas. The foundation is currently taking part in the “Brandenburg Works” competition, which honors companies that combine economic success with social responsibility. For example, the foundation founded an inclusion company that employs around 30 people with and without disabilities. These institutions care about sustainable hunting and forestry and offer education for better inclusion in everyday life.
The DKB Foundation not only promotes art, but also education, culture, monument protection and community. Summer holiday programs were also offered for children and young people to give them the opportunity to creatively experience nature. An exhibition recently took place under the motto “Small steps, big impact: Brandenburg in transition” that deals with climate change and calls for active participation.
The Thinkfarm in Eberswalde impressively shows how art and modern forms of work can go hand in hand. If you would like to find out more about the DKB Foundation's initiatives, you can do so on the DKB Foundation website or find out about other cultural projects in Brandenburg on the Platform for Cultural Education Brandenburg. Eberswalde will definitely remain a place where art and culture have a future!
