Skatepark Rehberge: New fall protection for more safety and comfort!
In the first week of the autumn holidays, work was done at the Rehberge skate park in Bernau. Thanks to the Weitzel Sportstättenbau company from Sternberg, which carried out the work, the skate park now shines in new splendor. At the skaters' request, a new fall protection was installed in front of the climbing wall, which covers a total of around 32 square meters with a shock-absorbing surface.
Particularly pleasing: A newly created five square meter connection area ensures that tripping hazards in the park are now a thing of the past. These measures aim to make the riding surface consistently smooth and safe - for everyone who enjoys being in the skate park. After just three days, the project was successfully completed and skaters can look forward to an improved standard of use.
Security and convenience update
The topic of safety is particularly important at the Rehberge skate park. The new work not only increases comfort for users, but also reduces the risk of falls. The company AS+BE Asphalt- und Betonstraßebau from Berlin also plans to close cracks and fill joints, weather permitting. This shows the great commitment to the skate community in Bernau.
But it's not just the skate park itself that benefits from these improvements. The desire for accessibility is also becoming increasingly louder in the local community. Bernau will also report LIVE on the digital accessibility efforts on her website, which are based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. Various functions are integrated that are intended to improve user-friendliness for people with disabilities. In the spirit of inclusion, it is important that all users of this platform can participate in the digital world without encountering barriers.
Strengthen inclusion in sport
As the German Disabled Sports Association emphasizes, accessibility is not just a technical challenge, but a comprehensive goal that is the social responsibility of every sports club. It's about not only creating structural access, but also breaking down mental barriers and promoting inclusive cooperation.
“There needs to be an increased offensive from all sports clubs,” says the DBS. Athletes with and without disabilities should meet at eye level in order to reduce prejudices and fears of contact. All actors are called upon to promote integration in sport and to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to actively participate.
The ongoing improvements at the Rehberge Skatepark are therefore not only a good example of safety precautions, but also an important step towards a more inclusive sports culture. With the use of state-of-the-art materials and a clear commitment to accessibility, Bernau is on the right track to meet the needs of all its citizens.
Whether digital or in-person, the region's commitment to accessibility continues to be a priority and community ties remain strong.
