The “Island Lights” festival returns! On July 18th and 19th, 2025, Gut Börnicke in Bernau will shine in new splendor after the event moves here from Marienwerder after a 20-year break. This new edition is not only a cultural highlight, but also part of the celebration of Börnicke's 725th anniversary. Anticipation is the order of the day!
The event location, Gut Börnicke, impresses with its time-honored brick buildings, an enchanting castle and an idyllic lakeside park. This backdrop will offer visitors an unforgettable ambience and create an ideal setting for the musical performances. The decision to revive the festival was made in the summer of 2024 and planning has been in full swing since then to ensure guests have a great experience.
A weekend full of music
On the first evening, July 18th, the bandMe & Ms Jacob, consisting of eight talented musicians from Hanover, will open the stage. This group is dedicated to the genre of Eclectic Soul and presents their new record “Walking With May Shadow”. Her songs deal with themes such as heartbreak, loneliness and new beginnings. Directly afterwards the concert will take placeAlexander ScheerandAndreas Dresenfollowed, who will perform a selection of their favorite pieces, including songs from the biopic about Gundermann, which was awarded a total of six LOLAs.
If that's not enough, the Indie Folk Band will be there from 11 p.mThe Gardener & The Treeimpressed with their mysterious sound and interactive stage presence. They released their last album “Intervention” at the end of 2021 and are known for their closeness to their audience.
It goes on the second evening, July 19thJust Like Claycontinued, followed by the famous singer-songwriterMilow, who is presenting his new album “Boy Made Out Of Stars” on his European tour. The finale is the indie folk bandBlack Sea Dahu feat. Amour sur Mars. Visitors can look forward to a varied musical experience!
