650 years of Tornow: big festival with a move and LED show on June 21!

Tornow, Deutschland - The small town of Tornow, located in the picturesque Brandenburg, is preparing for a very special event: on June 21, 2025, the community celebrates its 650th anniversary. Preparations are already buzzing through the town and bring the village community to a festive mood. After the first documentary mention of Tornow was documented in 1375, this anniversary is a welcome opportunity to celebrate the history and cohesion of the community. While the preparations are promoted by the members of the local advisory board, the village club, the SV Tornow 90, the fire brigade and many committed residents, the anticipation for the celebrations is growing.

Tornow has made a name for itself in particular due to its spectacular solstice celebrations. But the upcoming anniversary promises much more. With a colorful program that includes a festive move, dance shows, musical performances and an LED show, the day becomes an experience for young and old. A warm parade will lead visitors from Karlswerker Weg to the fairground, which is festively decorated with a pennant chain of 2.5 kilometers. The program includes numerous attractions, including market stalls, a bouncy castle, bull riding and even a climbing wall.

diverse anniversary program

The program of the 650th anniversary is full:

  • 12-13 p.m.: parade with Spielmannszug
  • 1-15 p.m.: Fire brigade chapel Bernau on stage
  • 15-15: 50 p.m.: Dance show of the dance group Stahl Finow
  • 15:45-16: 3 p.m.: Deletion attack by the volunteer fire brigade
  • 4-18 p.m.: Volume "Three Generations"
  • 6-7 p.m.: Dance group Falkenberg
  • 22-22: 30 p.m.: LED show and fire show

The village has mastered some challenges in recent years, including the loss of social and economic infrastructure. The former school had to close in 1968, and now the local advisory board lives on in the former school building. The longing for a village community center and better infrastructural conditions is also getting bigger. The residents also want an extended range of buses and the designation of building land to keep the village attractive.

A look at the story

In Tornow, not only is celebrated, but also recognized the roots of the place. Historians speak of the inventory that Emperor Charles IV initiated in the Markt Brandenburg in the 14th century. This measure led to the first written mention of many villages in the region, including Tornows. Almost 650 years later, the community is required to preserve the legacy and at the same time look into a positive future.

The preparations for the anniversary celebration are also affected by other villages in the area, which are also 650 years old. Festivities will soon take place in different places in the Zauche and Fläming, where numerous communities want to honor their own history. Tornow will probably not be the only place that will provide happy faces and a big festival in the coming year. So it says in the region: "The coexistence and sharing of our stories make us strong!"

The tornowers are looking forward to an unforgettable festival and hope that many visitors will celebrate the 650th anniversary together with them. As the preparations show, the cohesion is very important here. So you can be excited to see what June 21, 2025 has to offer.
