According to the Deutschlandfunk Life around 7.9 million people with severe disabilities in Germany, which corresponds to almost 10% of the population. The UN Convention on the Rights of Disabilities emphasizes the social participation of people with disabilities as a human right and calls for equal cooperation. But reality often looks different. Inclusion, as a central principle of this convention, is only implemented slowly and inadequately.

The development of an inclusive school system is progressing, but there are still separate education systems. A current survey shows that over 60% of teachers consider inclusion as desirable, but only almost 30% believe in their practical implementation. The examples from schools reflect the challenges, including the local medical practices that the barrier reduction in many areas has not yet been completed. So доступен are only about 50% of the outpatient doctor's houses barrier -free; Accessibility is particularly limited in the case of visual impression.
