Series of burglaries in Radebeul

Radebeul is also badly affected by a series of break-ins. Unknown people repeatedly break into single-family homes. A single-family home on Jägerhofstrasse was broken into by forcing the patio door open. However, it is still unclear whether anything was stolen.

In the following nights there were several more break-ins. Jewelry and cash worth around 13,500 euros were stolen from various houses. A two-family house was also affected; valuables worth around 1,000 euros were taken from there. The burglars seem to have a keen sense for valuable loot.

But it's not just the break-ins into residential buildings that cause headaches: in Radebeul, a safe was also stolen from a social institution that contained around 1,000 euros in cash. The criminal police have already started investigations and are looking for possible leads.

Increased theft

There were also several thefts, including e-bikes worth around 6,600 euros were stolen from the basement of an apartment building. A wallet belonging to a 66-year-old woman was also stolen while shopping in Radebeul, with the loss amounting to around 65 euros and personal documents. Such acts, especially in shopping centers, reflect unfavorably on the safety of the area.

In Meißen, the theft of construction machinery was another serious incident: Unknown people went onto company premises and stole construction machinery parts with a total loss of around 15,700 euros. Here too, it remains to be seen whether the perpetrators can be caught.

Although the police keep an eye on the numbers, the development of crime in Germany remains variable. According to police crime statistics, there was a decrease of 1.7% to around 5.84 million crimes in 2024. Nevertheless, the increase in crimes that affect the population's sense of security continues to be observed. The number of unreported crimes remains high, especially for crimes such as rape, which are often not reported statista.com.

The local challenges are particularly faced by officials who are trying to stabilize the security situation again. It remains to be seen whether the investigation will be successful and the perpetrators will be held accountable.
