From Kahren to Rome: Simson fans create an unforgettable journey!
An exciting journey for four passionate Simson fans who reached their destination in Rome on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. after 1,523 km on their 50cc mopeds. Local news reports on the moving arrival of drivers Ramón (40), Stefan (44), Christopher (36), and Joel (18), who set off on the route with their friend Marcel in the support car. During their journey to visit Bud Spencer's grave, they experienced, among other things, rain on the way to Venice and challenging Alpine crossings that involved some physical exertion.
The total of 61 hours on the mopeds were not only exhausting, but also full of challenges. The participants had to take breaks again and again in cold temperatures and steep climbs. Despite these adversities, they were very satisfied with the reliability of their Simson mopeds, which were originally produced in Thuringia. Only small defects occurred, a flat tire had to be registered, and there were always enough spare parts available in the support car, but they had to be used minimally.
Emotional return to Kahren
After the emotional arrival in Rome, which left the participants feeling happy and moved, the journey home began. The reception in Kahren at the community center is already planned. The locals will certainly greet the successful adventurers with applause and lots of questions. Special moments like these bring the community together and show how much solidarity and enthusiasm for Simson mopeds are rooted in the region.
The Simson mopeds are not only very popular with riders like these four friends, but also have a long history behind them. For example, the S51E II Enduro model was brought onto the market in 1987 and quickly gained a good reputation. It replaced the previous models S51E and S51E/4. Conversion to an enduro model is unproblematic, and the required spare parts are now easily available as replica models, as the DDR-Motorrad Portal emphasizes.
Active Simson community
This enthusiasm for Simson mopeds is also reflected in the committed community that has come together in the Simson Moped Forum. The forum has existed since 2006 and has already attracted over 11,658 users. Characterized by intensive discussions and exchanges about spare parts and modifications, it has become a valuable contact point for many moped thieves. Today alone, 1,406 users were active, underscoring the enormous popularity and vibrancy of this community.
A project as ambitious as the road trip to Rome shows once again how rooted the Simson brand and its vehicles are in people's hearts. The enthusiasm for these mopeds not only keeps memories alive, but also creates new friendships that last for many miles.
