Dragon Boat Festival in Strausberg: fun and excitement in the pool!

From July 4th to 6th, 2025 the time has finally come: the dragon boat festival in Strausberg is just around the corner! This year, for the first time, the event will not take place in the usual Straussee, but in a specially constructed 15-meter pool in the Volkshaus. Reason enough for a festive atmosphere and exciting competitions, as the event is celebrating its 20th anniversary. The opening ceremony starts on Friday, July 4th, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. with free admission. Highlights on the first day include a bumper car, Ferris wheel, bungee trampoline and a children's program. The musical entertainment begins at 6 p.m. with live acts, including Schulz&Müller and Rosemary’s Triplets. A diverse culinary offering is available for hungry guests, ranging from bratwurst to pizza to sweet pastries.

The competition program

Saturday, July 5th, will be exciting: the dragon boat races start at 10 a.m. with the “Dragon Boat Fun Cup”. 10 teams have the opportunity to compete against each other in competitions that are becoming more popular every year. The organization recommends taking the S-Bahn as parking options are limited. In the afternoon there are dance performances and a children's program for younger visitors.

In the evening it gets really spectacular: the big laser show is accompanied by a varied live program. The bands ZEBRAROT, Wynona & Jakob and Frank Oderland will really heat up the audience! If you still want to party afterwards, you can visit the disco in the Volkshaus from 8 p.m. - entry is 8 euros, but entry is free for children up to 12 years old. Sunday breakfast and music enjoyment

The final day, Sunday, July 6th, begins with a morning pint from 11 a.m., musically accompanied by the village musicians from Eggersdorf. Here, festival visitors can look forward to delicious dishes such as garlic baguette, pork knuckle and sweet crepes - a worthy end to the anniversary celebration! Entry is free on this day, making Sunday an ideal family outing.

Registration for the dragon boat teams is still possible as long as there are still places available. Anyone interested can register at drachenboot@volkshaus-events.de. Up to 10 people can compete per team, although there must be at least two women. The entry fee is 100 euros.
