Shock attack at diversity in Bad Freienwalde: First arrest!

In Bad Freienwalde, a terrifying incident happened on Sunday. During the "diversity", which was intended as a sign against queer hostility and right -wing extremism, around 10 to 15 hooded men attacked the event. At least two people were injured in this attack. The perpetrators, equipped with sticks and other impact tools, allegedly belong to the right -wing extremist group "third way". This organization is known as a neo -fascist party and has pushed itself into public perception in recent years through its aggressive youth work. According to the Tagesspiegel, a first suspect has already been arrested that has connections to the right-wing extremist scene.

On the background of the attack, it can be said that the "diversity festival" under the motto "Bad Freienwalde is colorful" took place and activist: inside from different areas. This has fueled the concern about the radical elements in society, especially among young people, who are increasingly target groups for such neo-fascist ideologies, as is also reported by constitutional protection.

The perpetrator, who was arrested in Bad Freienwalde, is a young man from Bliesdorf, who had already participated in right -wing extremist demonstrations in the past. In 2024 he even tried several times to disturb similar festivals, but his attacks have so far been successfully fended off. The ugly face of current right -wing extremism in Germany shows that the attackers were specifically directed against people who stand up for diversity and prejudices. Like a shadow, there is a danger about these events, which should actually be a sign of hope and cohesion.
