Uckermark Hallen Masters: Football festival in new splendor on December 27th!

On December 16, 2023, the Neue Zeit sports hall in Schwedt will be the venue for the 27th Uckermark Hall Masters. This time eight teams from the state league and state class are taking part in the popular tournament, which has been considered a sporting highlight in the region for many years. The organizer, the Uckermark Football District, brings together the best amateur teams to show what indoor football has to offer and to create an important platform for young talent and the regional scene. Fupa reports that the exciting games last 12 minutes each and are played in two groups of four teams each.

In the first group, Group A, FC Schwedt 02, Angermünder FC, SC Victoria 1914 Templin and FSV Rot-Weiß Prenzlau compete against each other. Group B consists of Schönower SV 1928, SV Blau-Weiß 90 Gartz, VfB Gramzow and the Lunow/Oderberg syndicate. After the group phase, which is carried out as “everyone against everyone”, things continue excitingly: the group winners meet the runners-up from the other group in the knockout round. The semi-finals start at 5:45 p.m., followed by the placement games from 6:40 p.m., and finally the games for third and fifth places will be decided by penalty shootout. The grand finale kicks off at 6:55 p.m.

New momentum after a break

The 27th Uckermark Indoor Masters is particularly notable as it is the first event after a four-year break. All teams from the state league and state class have confirmed their attendance, which increases the anticipation for the event even further. Football Uckermark emphasizes that the exact division of the groups was made according to the table placement on the deadline and the key numbers are drawn to ensure fair competition.

However, visitors should take care of their tickets in good time, as tickets will no longer be sold on site on the day of the tournament. Admission is only possible with a valid ticket and the number of spectators is limited. Advance sales begin on December 1, 2025 in selected locations, including the sports bar “Heinrichts Lust” in Schwedt and the office of the Uckermark football district.

The fascination of indoor football

But what makes indoor football so special? In Germany, indoor football has established itself as a popular winter activity that is particularly appreciated by amateur teams and traditional clubs. Historically, it was a platform for the big teams, such as Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, who fought for the DFB Indoor Cup. Club ticket explains that the first indoor tournaments took place in 1956 and despite the various rule changes and restrictions in professional football, interest in indoor tournaments continues to this day.

The upcoming event in Schwedt is not only a celebration of football, but also an excellent opportunity for players and clubs to meet, show off their skills and potentially discover new talent. With this in mind, everyone involved is looking forward to an exciting and fair competition in the heart of the Uckermark.
