Exciting discovery tours: towers and autumn customs in Prenzlau!
On Thursday, October 30th, everyone interested in history and culture will have the opportunity to explore Prenzlau on an exciting discovery tour. The city information center in Prenzlau offers two tours led by tour guide Doris Meinke. These guided tours are a wonderful way to get to know the city's sights and history better.
The first event, the family tour “Towers in Prenzlau”, begins at 11 a.m. at Blindower Tor. During this tour, participants follow the route along the almost completely restored city wall to the Steintorturm. There are not only impressive medieval buildings to admire here, but also some spooky city stories that make the experience even more exciting. A quiz has been prepared for the little explorers: whoever gives the correct answers will receive a small prize at the city information center.
Autumnal customs in focus
The second tour, “Autumn Customs,” starts at 4 p.m. at the city information center at Marktberg 2. This is about the numerous traditions and festivals that characterize the time between the end of summer and Advent. Participants can look forward to exciting information about Thanksgiving, St. Martin's parades, St. Barbara's branches, Halloween and St. Nicholas. Not only is the origin of these customs examined, but also how they have changed over the years.
Anyone interested in the history of Prenzlau could also take a look at the important historical churches such as St. Mary's Church, the Dominican Monastery and St. Nikolai. The city has almost 800 years of history, which comes alive with guided tours every Saturday at 11 a.m. from May to September. Of course, groups and individuals can also book their own appointments to discover Prenzlau's cultural heritage, which can be felt in many places in the city.
Tickets and further information
Tickets for the two tours are available at the Prenzlau city information center and online at www.reservix.de available. So if you are looking for a varied and educational program, you should not miss this opportunity.
