A little background on Halloween
For those who may not know, Halloween, which has its origins in the ancient Celtic harvest festival Samhain, is always celebrated on the eve of All Saints' Day. The Celts believed that the souls of the dead could come into contact with the living on this day. Lighting bonfires used to be a central tradition of this festival. Today, many people around the world celebrate Halloween with costumes and candy, although traditions have changed over the years.
However, many wonder whether it is appropriate for Christians to celebrate Halloween. Although the Bible does not give direct instructions, it encourages us to think about things that are true and praiseworthy. It's important to reflect on the origins and customs of Halloween, particularly the dark aspects originally associated with the holiday.
