Truck accident on B5: full closure and dramatic rescue operation in Perleberg!

On Monday, June 16, 2025, there was a dramatic traffic accident on the B5 between Quitzow and Perleberg-Nord. At 9:45 a.m., a truck lost control for unknown reasons, drove off the right side of the road and crashed into a tree. The 31-year-old driver of the truck suffered minor injuries and had to be treated by emergency services and a rescue helicopter. Fortunately, the Audi driver, who was traveling behind the truck, was also affected, but was uninjured in an accident that followed shortly afterwards with a tree lying on the road, according to the Märkische Allgemeine Zeitung reported.

The consequences of the accident are significant: the B5 had to be completely closed in both directions, which led to long-lasting traffic jams. In order to make the road safe to drive on again, the remains of the damaged tree and gravel that was lost in the accident were removed. The recovery of the truck is planned for the evening and will be organized by the truck company's dispatcher, with the work scheduled to be completed between 6 p.m. and midnight. The estimated material damage amounts to around 150,000 euros.

Another accident occurred early in the morning, around 5:30 a.m. A 26-year-old Dane driving a truck veered off the road to the right near Premslin and also collided with a tree. The vehicle lost part of its load and blocked the road, causing a 58-year-old driver of a Mercedes Sprinter to collide with concrete parts. He was slightly injured and taken to the hospital, while his vehicle was no longer drivable and had to be towed away, according to the Brandenburg police communicates.

Another accident occurred around 5:40 a.m. when the driver of a Mercedes Sprinter wanted to turn around due to traffic disruptions and collided with an ambulance driving behind him. There was also one injured person who was taken to hospital. The total damage in this accident amounts to around 40,000 euros.

These statistics not only show the causes of accidents, but also provide a valuable overview of the accident and the people involved.
