Potsdam invites you: Open Studio Day on May 3, 2026!
The anticipation in Potsdam is growing: The “Open Studio Day” will take place on Sunday, May 3, 2026. This popular event attracts art and culture enthusiasts from all over the region and gives them the opportunity to take a look behind the scenes of the creative processes. For more than 26 years, Potsdam artists have been opening their studios and not only presenting their latest works, but also providing insights into their work spaces and techniques.
The studios are open to all visitors on the day of the event from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Artists also have the opportunity to offer their own supporting program, ranging from demonstrations to discussions and participatory activities. This means that guests can not only admire the art, but also actively participate in it. Last year there were numerous creative offers that made the event particularly lively.
Applications until December 2025
An important note for all artists and creators: The application deadline for this year's “Open Studio Day” ends on December 12, 2025. Culture and art – a long tradition
Art has an indispensable place in our society. It not only promotes creativity, but also connects people through shared experiences. The term “art” itself has a fascinating history. It comes from the Middle Low German “kunst” and is derived from the Proto-Germanic *kunstiz, meaning “knowledge” or “skill”. In today's world, art encompasses a wide spectrum, from painting to sculpture to performing arts.
The “Open Studio Day” in Potsdam is not only a wonderful opportunity for artists to present themselves, but also for visitors to experience art up close and perhaps even learn more about the techniques and thoughts behind the works. Such an event is of great value, especially at a time when exchange between artists and audiences is often neglected, especially in the digital world.
Take advantage of the opportunity on May 3, 2026 and immerse yourself in the creative world of Potsdam - where art is not only shown, but also experienced!
