On Friday evening, June 20, 2025, a serious traffic accident occurred on the B2 federal highway between Elsholz and Beelitz. A 47-year-old motorcyclist left the road for unknown reasons and initially collided with a guide post before crashing head-on into a tree. Despite the resuscitation measures immediately initiated by first responders, the motorcyclist died at the scene of the accident. The emergency services from Beelitz, who were alerted, continued life-saving measures, but the emergency doctor on site determined that the motorcyclist was dead. The B2 federal highway in the direction of Wittenberg had to be completely closed for several hours. An expert from Dekra was called in to determine the exact cause of the accident.
