Mühlenstrasse in Golßen: Completion of construction work in sight!
Good news from Golßen: The construction work on Mühlenstrasse is almost complete. How Niederlausitz Current reported, the section of county road K6145 will be reopened to traffic on June 30, 2025. After an intensive ten months of construction, the RVS buses can drive through the town again. A ray of hope for residents and commuters who have been used to the diversions in recent months.
The construction work not only included the renewal of the asphalt roadway, but also the renovation of the sidewalks, ancillary facilities, the rainwater system and the street lighting. The district of Dahme-Spreewald and the city of Golßen are responsible for this extensive expansion, and they are also building a central island at the entrance to the town to reduce speed.
The city wall construction section remains closed
Unfortunately, the area between the city wall and the main street/market will remain closed to general traffic until November 2025. “The narrow lane width requires a full closure in both directions, at least for general traffic,” said the authorities. Only regular services have exceptions to ensure accessibility for residents.
Interestingly, the current construction work is not the first major project in the region. Like that Aengevelt Research explains, many large projects in Germany often have problems such as cost and construction time overruns. The reasons for this are often inadequate planning, unexpected difficulties or political influences. It is all the more important that such projects are managed well on site, such as in Golßen, without falling into the usual traps of large construction sites.
A look forward
The Dahme-Spreewald district and the city of Golßen ask citizens for their understanding of the ongoing restrictions. The diversion, especially for trucks, also remains in place. But the result will be impressive: a modernized and safe traffic flow through Golßen that takes into account the needs of both drivers and pedestrians.
With the official notifications and the existing schedule, those involved show a good hand and confidence that the work will be completed quickly. The citizens of Golßen can hope for a fresh, new townscape that not only increases functionality, but also contributes to everyone's safety.
