Arson in Eberswalde: Investigations into a dangerous fire!

There's a lot going on in Eberswalde - and not just on the political level. Arsons and a mysterious incident involving a drunk woman cause excitement in the local community. The criminal police have their hands full because there are suspicions of intentional action.

On November 2, 2025, the fire department was called to a fire on Bergerstrasse, where an empty house being demolished was on fire. The investigation indicates that a campfire was carelessly left behind. But the police also have evidence that points to arson. A witness suffered smoke inhalation during the operation, and the flames also damaged the facade of an adjacent residential building. A clear case in which the criminal police are already investigating in order to hold the person or persons responsible accountable, reports Barnim Aktuell.

A dark series of incidents

Just one day earlier, on November 1, 2025, there was another fire on Am Kanal street, in which a gazebo was partially destroyed by flames. The material damage caused is estimated at around 1,000 euros. Two young people have been identified as possible witnesses here, which is why the criminal police are intensively searching for them. Here too, it is assumed that the fire was intentionally set.

The police are also investigating an even more serious case involving arson that resulted in death. In Eberswalde, investigations are underway against unknown persons, while the public prosecutor's office assumes deliberate behavior. The identification of the two fire victims and the forensic medical examinations are still ongoing. Witnesses continue to be interviewed to shed light on these tragic events, as rbb24 reports.

Agitation on the streets

But it's not just fires that concern the people of Eberswalde. On the same day as the first arson, there was an incident on Coppistrasse when a 29-year-old woman, heavily intoxicated with a blood alcohol level of 2.18, harassed passers-by and behaved aggressively towards the police officers who intervened. After she resisted having her blood drawn at the clinic, investigations were initiated into allegations of insults and resistance to law enforcement officers. Such worrying incidents occur every day in Eberswalde, which affect citizens' sense of security.

In addition, the police are currently hunting for burglars in Panketal, where several residential buildings, including a semi-detached house and single-family homes, have been the target of such crimes. It remains unclear whether the burglars took any loot, but the investigation is in full swing here too.

Citizens in Eberswalde are concerned about increasing crime and want more security on their streets. The police are called upon and investigations into various cases remain ongoing while the public's eyes remain closely on developments.
