In order to draw attention to this problem, the International Day against Violence against Women is celebrated on November 25th. The wind of change has been blowing in Bernau near Berlin since the beginning of November: flags, posters and posts on social media are intended to raise awareness. Another significant event is the raising of the “We say NO” banner at the University for Sustainable Development (HNEE) at 11:00 a.m. In addition, a pink bench will be inaugurated, which will be set up at various locations in the city and thus send a clear message against violence. These initiatives are not only intended to raise awareness, but also to encourage people to talk about violence and use offers of help.

This number recorded around 86,700 contacts in 2023, of which around 59,000 consultations were carried out. The need for such services is clearly demonstrated, as there were around 181,000 women who were victims of domestic violence in 2023 - sad statistics that should inspire action.
