Finsterwalde is urgently looking for volunteer sponsors who can support students in grades 8 to 10 as part of the “I want!” program. the Böllhoff Foundation support. In the sponsorship program, the young people are supported over a period of three years. Sponsors not only offer individual support and trust, but also practical help in everyday life. Ina Porepp, who has been active as a sponsor since 2020, emphasizes how important the trusting partnership with her sponsored student is. “Shared experiences promote relationships and help achieve personal goals,” says Ina.
Thomas Haubitz, a sponsor since 2018, sees the need to offer young people a reliable point of contact. He describes how crucial it is to work together on goals and strengthen self-motivation. The sponsors also support practical implementation, such as finding an apprenticeship and dealing with academic challenges.
