Exciting summer holidays: Museums in Elbe-Elster offer children's adventures!
In the summer vacation 2025, children in the Elbe-Elster region can expect an exciting and diverse program. The Elbe-Elster museum network has come up with a lot to bring the story closer to young discoverers between the ages of 5 and 12. In four museums, especially in Bad Liebenwerda, Finsterwalde, Doberlug and Mühlberg, the little visitors can go on a journey through time and experience a lot.
What is on the program? The museums offer interactive events with different focuses! Activities such as designing candy bags in the historic merchant shop or handicrafts of hand dolls are on the list. To name just a few of the highlights:
- Finsterwalde : Historical merchant shop and candies on July 29, 10.30 a.m., admission 4 €.
- Doberlug : baroque costumes, games and tinkering in the castle on July 30th, 10.30 a.m., entry 8 €.
- Bad Liebenwerda : Marionette fun and hand puppets make on August 1st, 10.30 a.m., admission 4 €.
- Mühlberg : treasure hunt, costumes and crossbow shooting on August 6th, 10.30 a.m., admission 4 €.
The program goes on! On August 12th there is the opportunity to immerse yourself in herbal science in the Doberlug Castle, while Finsterwalde invites you to "Big Linen at the merchant Wittke" on August 13th. On August 14th there will be a treasure hunt in the Lubwart tower of Bad Liebenwerda. Admission is also favorable and a pre -registration is required for all events.

The time travel that are organized for children from 6 to 12 years are particularly noteworthy. On July 26, the participants in the Museum Schloss Doberlug learn how celebrated and cooked 300 years ago. To do this, the children can dress in baroque costumes and make fancy masks. You will learn to wash laundry in manual operation, produce your own detergent and even create your own herb soap.
in the Mühlberg Museum it says on August 7: "Treasure hunt into 1547". Skill samples are required here, and the participants have the opportunity to get a noble letter after they have found the treasure chest. For only 4 euros, the little treasure hunters can also dive into adventure.
