On August 17, 2025, an incident on the train from Lübben on the way to a DFB Cup game made headlines. Around several hundred Hannover 96 fans traveled on the regional train, which also carried Energie Cottbus supporters. What started as an ordinary journey quickly turned into a nightmare for many passengers.
