On July 5 and 6, 2025, the Altmarkt turns into the largest dance floor of the city, while the traditional "Cottbus Waltz Night" is celebrated. This annual event promises to be a festival for all dance enthusiasts and music lovers, such as the Lausitzer Rundschau reported.
On the first evening, the open waltz sample starts at 2 p.m., followed by a free dance course that is led by the renowned dance school Fritsche at 6.30 p.m. From 9 p.m. the Philharmonic Orchestra and talented soloists such as Anne Martha Schuitemaker and Rahel Brede provide the best entertainment. Another special indication for the participants: to appear dressed in a summer white is not only a nice custom, but also makes the event particularly festive.
